Abstract

|
A case of spontaneous rupture of the renal parenchyme is reported. We describe a 69-year-old diabetic woman who presented with acute abdominal pain and chilling sensation for several days. She denied any history of abdominal trauma. Abdominal CT
scan
diagnosed subcapsular hematoma and renal rupture. Patient refused immediate exploration. Six months later, the was operated for severe perirenal and pararenal abscess. She recovered uneventfully. Pathological examination couldn't show any
malignancy. We
consider this cases as a spontaneous renal rupture in patients with diabetes mellitus and acute pyelonephritis.
